Legs & Back

Owwwww!

Today was a bit challenging. For some reason I woke up feeling surprisingly drained and low on energy, but managed to drag my butt into the workout room and kick off Day 5 of my new p90x experience. During the vigorous regiment of pullups and squats, my legs and arms felt unusually heavy. Being that I’ve not been in the best of shape, I should make an effort to remind myself that I’m not going to be able to keep up with the folks on the video…at least for a while.

So I can bang on a few chinups without falling apart, but the wide-grip pullups are impossible without resting one heel/toe on a chair. With that said, I’ve set a somewhat aggressive goal of being able to execute at least 10 unassisted pullups at the end of 90 days. I’m not sure how realistic that is…but it’s worth a shot.

The leg portion is horrible. Rotating through thigh, calf, & butt burning routines ranging from static wall squats to plyo-style jump squats; by the end of the workout my legs were jelly.

Excellent workout…I just need to make sure I’m including the right nutrients in my diet to maintain a decent energy level.
